Dr. Laura Elomaa brings over 15 years of experience in bioprinting, driving innovations in bioink development and advancing the creation of complex human tissue constructs. Her bioprinting journey began in Finland and the Netherlands and continued through Ph.D. research in the USA, where she deepened her expertise in tissue replication. In Germany, she has focused on engineering vascularized human tissues for both disease modeling and clinical implantation –initially in academia and, since last year, at Cellbricks Therapeutics. Today, she leads the development of advanced tumor models to accelerate patient-specific cancer therapeutics while also exploring vascularization strategies to push the frontiers of clinical tissue replacements.
